B-Sedan racecars, sometimes called “small bore Trans Am” cars, came to prominence as the “under card” feature racecars of the big bore Trans-Am era. Originally characterized as under 2.5 liter sedans of various makes — BMW 2002s, Porsche 912s, Alfa Romeo GTVs, Ford Escorts and other small-to-mid-size sedans of the late 1960s-early 1970s period, these were high performance examples of what common people could buy and drive. Today, B-Sedan is so popular today that some organizations have divided the class by under 2-liter and 2-liter maximum, with carburetion and other specifications.
